About Us
A Brief History of the Disenfranchisement Crisis in Georgia
For decades, Georgia has ranked among the top states in the nation for disenfranchising its citizens—particularly those impacted by the criminal legal system. Laws rooted in the post-Reconstruction era have been used to strip voting rights from hundreds of thousands of Georgians, disproportionately affecting Black communities.
Even today, people returning from incarceration face a maze of outdated laws, misinformation, and systemic barriers that keep them from the ballot box. In many cases, citizens who are eligible to vote remain unaware of their rights due to lack of outreach and intentional voter suppression tactics.
The Prosperity Alliance was born to confront this crisis head-on—restoring rights, educating communities, and building the political power necessary to end disenfranchisement once and for all.
Our Vision
A Georgia where justice, dignity, and opportunity are not privileges for a few, but guaranteed for all—where education fuels empowerment, advocacy drives reform, and political power transforms communities.
Organizational Structure
The Prosperity Alliance is the umbrella organization that unites three independent but interconnected entities. Together, we work across the spectrum—from education to advocacy to electoral action—to achieve lasting change.
